چکیده
The measurement of blood oxygen saturation in the prefrontal cortex (PFC), especially during sleep, is great significance for clinical research. Herein, we present a wearable PFC system using dual-wavelength functional near-infrared spectroscopy. well designed user-friendly donning and has advantages comfort, convenience, portability, affordability. performance proposed investigated by calibration experimental results. demonstrated potential to conduct physiological monitoring PFC, it can be widely deployed daily life.

متن کاملCerebral hemoglobin and optical pathlength influence near-infrared spectroscopy measurement of cerebral oxygen saturation.
Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a noninvasive optical technique to monitor cerebral oxygen saturation at the bedside. Despite its applicability, NIRS has had limited clinical use because of concerns about accuracy, noted by intersubject variability in slope and intercept of the line between NIRS- and weighted-average arterial-cerebrovenous saturation (SMO2). This study evaluated transcrani...
متن کاملMeasurement of oxygen saturation in venous blood by dynamic near infrared spectroscopy.
A method for the measurement of oxygen saturation in the venous blood, SvO2, based on optical measurements of light absorption in the infrared region is presented. The method consists of applying relatively low external pressure of 25 mm Hg on the forearm, thereby increasing the venous blood volume in the tissue, and comparing the light absorption before and after the external pressure applicat...
متن کاملIncreased oxygen load in the prefrontal cortex from mouth breathing: a vector-based near-infrared spectroscopy study
Individuals who habitually breathe through the mouth are more likely than nasal breathers to have sleep disorders and attention deficit hyperactive disorder. We hypothesized that brain hemodynamic responses in the prefrontal cortex might be different for mouth and nasal breathing. To test this hypothesis, we measured changes in oxyhemoglobin and deoxyhemoglobin in the prefrontal cortex during m...
متن کاملNear-Infrared Spectroscopy based Neurofeedback of Prefrontal Cortex Activity: A Proof-of-Concept Study
Neurofeedback is a promising tool for treatment and rehabilitation of several patient groups. In this proof of principle study, near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) based neurofeedback of frontal cortical areas was investigated in healthy adults. Main aims were the assessment of learning, the effects on performance in a working memory (n-back) task and the impact of applied strategies on regulatio...
